For the first time, I am sharing a find for the outside of your house! ‘Tis the season for amping up curb appeal, and a front porch refresh is a great place to start.

Someone told me once that a good doormat was the first line of defense for keeping mud and dirt out of your house. You can go ahead and call me Captain Obvious, but consider that this has implications for what you can do inside your entryway or mudroom.

And a good, functional doormat need not be ugly, boring…or generic.

Friday Family-Friendly Find: Mark & Graham Personalized Doormats | Interiors for Families | Blog of Kelly Rogers Interiors

Personalized Doormats from Mark & Graham are made from sturdy coconut husk bristles, which is a natural material very commonly used in doormats. Not only is the material stiff enough to handle hundreds of aggressive boot wipes, it’s also the color of dirt :). A good recipe for a long-lasting welcome to your home!

So let’s skip right to the fun stuff – all of the design and personalization options. There are so many choices, including a variety of designs, and ways to personalize.

Here are some of my favorites…

I am thinking about the Horizontal Stripe Doormat for our Berkshires house! But I think I’d use our last name instead of the address (ours doesn’t sound quite as stately as ’41 Brock Street’).

If you have a Colonial Revival or Georgian-style home, you won’t go wrong with the Greek Key Doormat. Classic classic classic.

You know I am a sucker for plaid! The Plaid Border Doormat would work well with a variety of home styles – I am picturing it with a cute low-slung bungalow.

Coastal friends – the Rope Doormat is for you! I like how the knotted rope design is subtle and not so in-your-face nautical. This one’s also on sale.

Speaking of price, these are all under $90 and that includes personalization! They’d make great gifts too – but I’m going to keep mine all for myself :).
