Maybe I’m extra sensitive to trends in home decor, but it sure seems like the marketplace is exploding with William Morris licensed products. Last spring at High Point Market, Selamat, a furniture and accents manufacturer specializing in bohemian, rattan, and outdoor furnishings, debuted a huge (and pretty amazing) collection with William Morris, and since then I’m seeing it everywhere. I discovered the William Morris & Co Strawberry Thief Tray while on the hunt for a nice melamine tray on which to serve up s’mores fixings on our nights by the firepit on our patio. Strawberry Thief is an iconic Morris pattern; I’ve used it for draperies in a client project and they were stunning! Anyway, I had been using an old plastic Christmas cookie platter; it was time for an upgrade :). It’s been so hot in the Boston area, and yesterday was our first sub-90-degree evening in awhile, so we took it for a test drive!
The William Morris & Co Strawberry Thief Tray is dishwasher safe – and you’ll want to keep it up on the top rack, far away from the heating element. And the fire! Did you get a firepit during quarantine, too?
It’s really the perfect size for s’mores for our family of four! But also would work perfectly as a serving tray to bring out an al fresco lunch or hors d’oeuvres…or cocktails. And I’m sure I’ll be doing all of the above in the next week. Life is happening on the patio, and I’m not mad about it.
Oops – someone got a little too close to the flame! Not me, though. I don’t want to brag, but if there was an Olympic event for marshmallow roasting, I’d be a gold medal contender.
I mean…have you ever seen such a beautiful and perfect marshmallow?
I’m very particular about my s’mores build. I need the chocolate (classic Hershey’s milk chocolate) to melt as much as possible. Patience (and a perfectly liquified marshmallow) is the name of the game.
^^^ Not patient. But awfully cute. And sticky. ^^^
