Sooo…it’s Week 3. The halfway point of the fall 2020 One Room Challenge. And since it is, in fact, still 2020, I should have expected things to go sideways. Because they have.Read More
We are well underway with the transformation of our unused ‘shell’ of a home theater room into a studio for dance, Kung fu, and other forms of exercise requiring a lot of floor space. And that’s a good thing, because it’s Week 2 of the One Room Challenge; time is short and the to-do list…Read More
Here we go again! For the seventh time, I am throwing my hat into the ring for the One Room Challenge.
If you’ve known and have seen the rooms I’ve transformed, as well as followed along with my home renovation a few years back, you’re probably wondering how I could possibly have more rooms that need help. Well let me tell you, I have more than a few! Including every single bathroom in my house. Projects for many more years to come…
If you had asked me six months ago what the next project would be here it would have been our main bedroom suite, including the bathroom and closet. Followed by several other spaces (bathrooms!). Somewhere in the bottom two on a lengthy list would have been dealing with the shell of a home theater, left for dead after the previous homeowner took all of the state-of-the-art audio-visual equipment and custom furniture with them when we bought the house back in 2013.Read More
For the second consecutive week, I’m posting my Friday Family-Friendly Find a day late. I actually have some blog schedule changes upcoming that will affect the next several weeks so read on for more about that!
This week I wanted to explore an area many people get nervous about – portable lighting. AKA lamps. If you take only one thing away from this blog post, let it be this…Read More
Welcome to the big reveal of the Fall 2018 One Room Challenge! The one I swore I wasn’t doing. No way, no how. Not a chance. And yet somehow, here I am unveiling to you what I think is a pretty great transformation. I was tardy to the party, starting right before the ‘Week 2’…Read More
Welcome to Week 5 of the Fall 2018 season of the One Room Challenge. I hope everyone survived, and maybe even enjoyed Halloween. I am personally just dead tired. Mid-week Halloween is brutal. We are sliding toward the finish line, and I’m not mad about it! If you’re a first-timer to our sixth One Room Challenge, let me briefly catch you up. I decided a few days after this round’s Week 1 start date to jump in as motivation to transition my 4-year-old son’s bedroom to a ‘big…Read More
I need to begin with a disclaimer: This won’t be my most riveting blog post ever. I am exhausted, and not really feeling the writing process right now. So I’m going to keep this brief (my version of brief, anyway…). It’s Week 3…go easy on me :). I actually did accomplish some things this…Read More
Is it Week 2 or Day 2? Actually, both. I threw my hat into the ring on this round of the One Room Challenge earlier this week (see my Week 1 post, which missed the deadline for the linkup), and I’m already beginning to wonder if I miscalculated. This is my ‘after hours’ project, but…Read More
Surprise! I just decided to jump into the fall 2018 One Room Challenge as a guest participant. Like, literally about an hour and a half ago. This will be my sixth (!) rodeo, and I truly had no intention of doing this due to being short-staffed with a crazy workload. I believe I’m close to…Read More
