Ooh, I have mixed feelings about this one! The calendar says we should be preparing for fall weather. The heart wants summer to stick around awhile longer. Nevertheless, Labor Day weekend is upon us – and therefore, I feel it is only right to try to wrap my head around the changing of the season and the unofficial beginning of autumn (otherwise known as summer’s end). This week’s Friday Family-Friendly Find might just help heal the pain…Read More
Maybe I’m extra sensitive to trends in home decor, but it sure seems like the marketplace is exploding with William Morris licensed products. Last spring at High Point Market, Selamat, a furniture and accents manufacturer specializing in bohemian, rattan, and outdoor furnishings, debuted a huge (and pretty amazing) collection with William Morris, and since then I’m seeing it everywhere. Including this week’s Friday Family-Friendly Find!
I discovered the William Morris & Co Strawberry Thief Tray while on the hunt for a nice melamine tray on which to serve up s’mores fixings on our nights by the firepit on our patio. Strawberry Thief is an iconic Morris pattern; I’ve used it for draperies in a client project and they were stunning! Anyway, I had been using an old plastic Christmas cookie platter; it was time for an upgrade :). It’s been so hot in the Boston area, and yesterday was our first sub-90-degree evening in awhile, so we took it for a test drive!Read More
When it comes to decorating kids spaces – be they bedrooms, playrooms, or cozy reading nooks under the stairs, we typically like them to be fun, colorful, durable, and not budget-busting. So I’m always on the lookout for furnishings and accessories that fit this criteria. And Surya’s Trenza Pillows and Poufs check all of those boxes…Read More
Ever since finding these great ‘vintage bookshelf edition’ board games a few years ago for my One Room Challenge landing (which has recently been dubbed a ‘pajama lounge’), I’ve been a wee bit obsessed with finding better-looking versions of everything from classic books to, well, other types of games!
Today I’ve rounded up for you three different categories of games that look as amazing in your home as they are fun to play.Read More

Today’s installment of my ‘week of gratitude’ features a collaboration between us (myself and Dianne Aucello of Edesia Kitchen & Bath Studio) and two wonderful partners, which made our Morning Kitchen at the Junior League of Boston 2017 Designer Show House truly special – and gave it a distinct Italian accent! There is no doubt about it – I am in purge mode. Getting ready for a home renovation will do that. I wish I was the kind of person that could really go all out and ruthlessly throw things away. That would be so liberating. I’m doing my best to make good decisions. So many…Read More
Nothing sets a mood…and a holiday table…quite like the flickering flames of candles. Last year at Christmas I had green and white striped candles, which were very fun and added a modern element to my more-or-less traditional dining room, but striped candles were a little harder to find this season (i.e. I couldn’t find a…Read More
In April, while visiting one of my favorite vendors and showrooms at High Point Market, I discovered a wonderful solution for temporary or portable seating for kids, and even adults that has even more utility and comfort than meets the eye. The Pod from CR Laine looks just like a giant throw pillow (the large…Read More
